Brief thoughts for the late evening.

I would write an update, but really, there's nothing to update on. Well, I do have more time to pack. It looks like I won't be moving for another month. Bah! I'm completely anxious and I just want to get it done. I'll be patient for a little while longer though. Also, my boyfriend and I celebrated one year together. It was nice. Spent an afternoon being pretty amused at the amusement park. Then we ate Taco Bell. Because we are crazy party animals! Watch out!

I want to go on a little trip. A weekend getaway. That's all.

Two things can be checked off my list.

-Alcohol certification : SUCCESS!
-Class registration : SUCCESS!? [At least, I think so. Hah. I really don't know.]

Anyway. That's awesome. I feel a bit accomplished.

I've not written anything in quite some time now.
There's not a lot going on.

But here's an update:

-Returned from housesitting.
-Gonna attempt to get alcohol certification with Sonia so we can be super rad servers.
-Got a new phone.
-Must, must, MUST get license!
-Class registration next week.
-Time to finish packing all my shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiih... tzu. Just kidding. I don't have a dog. However, I have a lot of stuff I still have to pack.

Gahhh!! Anyone care to lengthen the month of July so I have more time to procrastinate?

Lovely summer weather.

Let me give you an example of some weather here in my lovely city. Yesterday was one of those days where it couldn't decide what it wanted to do.
It ended up just raining the rest of the day.

However, the gloomy weather was a fantastic change for it's been SO FREAKING HOT!
It's the same weather today.
Wind and rain.
It's a shame I have no place to go, because now I can finally wear my pretty yellow jacket.

One of my new favorite films.

What can be said about this movie?

Many things.

Many, many great things.

I stumbled upon in the most unlikely manner. I am subscribed to a person on YouTube by the name of Toby Turner. One of the things he does is do "literal parodies" of trailers and one of these trailers was for the mocumentary "RAGE". I was instantly intrigued for it showed Jude Law as a tranny supermodel by the name of Minx, and looking hella fine, might I add. So I did my research. I am so glad I did. I had never really heard of it until today, but better late than never.

Armed with a stellar cast, "RAGE" was released last year as the first ever film to debut on cell phones worldwide. It is Sally Potter's gripping story told in the point of view of each member of a New York fashion team in a series of interviews. A student, Michelangelo, reveals the secrets of this teams attempts to put on a successful show. Attempts are almost futile as protesters cry out for change in the outsourcing of jobs to China. This protest has devastating effects. Two models are killed, a riot breaks out, and as you watch, you can not help but be heartbroken and devastated. It is as if these people were speaking directly to you and you can see and feel all their pain. For once, it feels real. I say that because that's rare. Even movies that are based on real events feel more like fiction than what actually happened. "RAGE" is pure fiction, but I feel like it's actually happening as I watch it. I absolutely love that feeling. It's engaging and allows the viewer to connect on a more intimate level with the characters and the story.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this film, but I don't want to spoil it too much for you. It's something that everyone should see.

You haven't lived until you've heard the earth speak. I am alive.

I live in the desert.

It's either insanely cold...

... Or unbearably hot.

I've found that happy mediums are rare.

Today, however, was one of the happy medium days and I was not going to pass it up. I have been determined to spend as much time outside today as possible. Besides, I could really use the sun. For those who know me, they know how ridiculously pale I tend to be. Also, provides you with good ol' vitamin D. (the stuff that makes your body absorb calcium :D). More than you can get from an 8 ounce glass of milk or anything else you can consume. And I don't know about you, but sunshine just makes me freaking happy. That is, until it burns me, but there are no burns today. Just perfect rays with the perfect breeze to supplement it.

So, here I sit enjoying this wonderful weather and actually somewhat lovely scenery with a glass of lemonade and a jar of raspberry preserves.

Earlier this afternoon, I spent about an hour and a half staring at the sky. It may sound boring to you, but you should try it. It sends you almost into a trance and you can feel yourself relax. Seriously. It's really peaceful. You get a moment to just observe.

EXAMPLE..

I watched a hummingbird hover back and forth above me. It finally landed on a branch, which, to me, was beautiful. I had never seen a hummingbird not in flight. In a way, I felt almost different. As I watched the hummingbird and listened to the distant buzzing of a cicada, I was reminded of the fact that life and the world is bigger than you and I will ever be.

Humans take too much for granted.

Go outside.

A Day In ABQ..

...Is a day well spent, I say.

-SIDENOTE-

You might notice throughout the course of my blog adventure that I like to talk about Sonia, my heterosexual life mate, a lot. I tend to do that and I have every right to. One, she's beyond awesome and two, she has been with me since the fourth grade and is an incredibly important part of my life.

Just sayin'...

Alright then? Okay. Time to chronicle this wonderful afternoon.

Sonia was on the hunt. A new bathing suit was in order, and with failed attempts on our side of town, she headed up to Uptown, which is a rather nice place to be, if I do say so myself. Coronado mall makes me wonder why Cottonwood, the mall closer to our place of residence, doesn't step it the fuck up. Coronado is better air conditioned and has a bigger Victoria's Secret. Get with it, Cottonwood! I don't wanna drive forty minutes for my mall needs!

We stopped in at PacSun and were quite surprised that a girl we had some classes with worked at that particular store. We had a nice laugh there because Destiny wanted to dress Sonia. Good times ensued because at one point, Sonia was looking a bit like a lesbian or a member of the nineties grunge movement... Or both.

Ah well. We left the store with two bathing suit tops and a bright yellow jacket. A jacket which I am incredibly fond of. Now, I just have to wait until this upwards of ninety degree weather chills out. It's a lovely addition to my collection of jackets, but I'll save that blog for another day.

Sonia and I were sat next to these girls who were slightly annoying. Just a little. After they left, their waitress shared with us that she thought the girls were stoned because they ate a lot. I bet they were. Preppy girls all secretly get high. NO! I'm kidding. I promise. I know nothing of the secret lives of preppy girls.

Target was next on the list of destinations. Nothing interesting happened there, really.

Well, anyway, the grocery store was next because there was actually no toothpaste, shampoo, soap or food in the house that I will be watching for the next three weeks and it sucks when you can't eat or wash yourself or brush your teeth for three weeks. Or so I would assume. I've never gone that long without doing any of that and I didn't want to start now.

So, I buy my groceries and other such things. Sonia and I head back to the house I'm watching over only to find out that my grandfather told me the key worked for the wrong lock. Sonia ends up jumping the fence in the backyard and tries the key on the other doors and finally gets in.

Sonia, you're my hero and thank you for everything you do. :D

Okay, that probably wasn't the most interesting read, but it was a fun day and if you'd been there, you'd know how rad the day was.

Anyway, it's a little after two in the morning. I'm laying here, in the guest bedroom of my grandfather's home. He's leaving on a trip tomorrow morning, so I'm left to watch over his home and his dog. It's a job I didn't really want to take, but I need the cash. It just adds to the stress of this month for I am supposed to be moving out of my parents' house and in with my dear boyfriend and a mutual friend. Not to mention the fact that I have no license and no job. It may seem crazy now, but I will get it worked out. I'm thinking about trying out optimism. POSITIVITY IS KEY... Oh, wait. I think it's "confidence". Well, I guess confidence is needed to achieve positivity. Am I right? I think so.

Shit...

I'm hungry.

I'm going to sleep now.
